Work in a publicity/marketing department that's widely acknowledged as one of the most innovative in the industry.
We seek candidates with a firm grasp of the fundamentals, but who are excited by what's happening in the business today, and are eager to create new ways to foster public discussion of our books.
Duties include performing all aspects of book publicity, including: designing campaigns; writing press materials; securing coverage; managing pre-publication reviews and publicity; arranging and managing events and tours; maintaining social networking campaigns; daily blogging on our award-winning website; representing the company at events; and raising the company's profile.
THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL JOB. Salary in the mid- to upper-30s plus benefits. |
| Requirements: |
STRONG WRITING SKILLS NECESSARY. Candidates should also have AT LEAST TWO YEARS EXPERIENCE IN BOOK PUBLICITY AT A BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY.
Also: good local, national, and internet media contacts; strong verbal and data management skills; the ability to simultaneously handle a variety of books (for example, current events titles along with translated literary fiction and poetry); the ability to work under deadline pressure; and an interest in independent publishing. Must be self-motivated and well organized, with a good sense of humor and enjoy working in a fast-paced, deeply collaborative and creative environment. |
